Back in 2013, Kim Dotcom launched the cloud storage service Mega, which came to replace the famous Megaupload. Thanks to this online storage platform, millions of users began to upload all kinds of content they could then share via links.

In order to index all those links to content published on the platform and act as a search engine for publicly shared files, it created another service called Mega Search, which is virtually "the Google" of files hosted on Mega.

How to find links published on Mega?

This service no longer works today, but at the time by accessing Mega-Search.me and later MegaSearch.co any user could search by keyword download links added.

In addition, using the available filters, you could organize the results by:

  • File type: audio, video, disk images, documents, mobile applications, books, subtitles...
  • The date the link was uploaded.
  • File size.
  • Alphabetical order.
  • Number of reviews, ratings, or comments related to the link.

Once you had checked the list of the last links added or performed a search and checked if what you wanted was in Mega Search, all you had to do was enter a captcha code to download it.

In addition, although the service was initially designed for Mega, it also allowed you to search for links and files hosted on other cloud services, including Mediafire, Uptobox, Uploaded, Rapidgator, Bitshare, Fileshare, Filepost, Depositfiles, and Openload, among others.

Share your download links on Mega

Of course, it also offered the possibility of posting links to the files that you yourself had uploaded to Mega so that other users could also enjoy that content.
